Located in East Auckland, Allegro Music studio is a group of
skilled musicians, teaching
under the direction of Susan Theron.
Providing a solid technical and musical foundation
We focus on laying a solid technical and musical foundation for students who may be working towards exams or just for pleasure. We ensure each student enjoys their musical development, and grow in their love of music.
QUALIFIED AND EXPERIENCED TEACHERS
All our teachers are well qualified and experienced in the arts of performing and teaching. We ensure that pupils develop sound technical skills, and that they do not adopt counter productive habits that can become obstacles to their progress.
Susan's focus and attention to detail draws the best from students. She monitors each student's results, irrespective of which tutor is doing the teaching. Regular meetings with the tutors ensure that each student gets the attention most suitable to their needs at their particular stage of development.
The studio caters for both classical and light music.

Tuition
General information about the studio.
Music lessons are offered weekly in 30, 45 or 60 minute sessions, depending on the student’s age/level. Students are expected to practice daily on a well-maintained acoustic piano. Keyboards are acceptable at beginners level.
As part of taking lessons, students are provided with several performance opportunities. All students are encouraged to play at the two main recitals we have each year. In between those we have two Saturday Recitals, where students have the opportunity to perform in small informal groups for each other.
Holiday programs:
This is a good time to catch up on any backlogs with no pressure of the constant workload during a school term.
Classes are offered early January (during the Summer holiday) to revise the work done of the past year to get to a higher level of understanding of the subject for the new year. When the foundation is strong the student can move forward towards success.
No hidden costs
Tuition fees covers not only the actual lesson time spent with the student, but time preparing for each student as well.
This includes:
Repertoire planning and Recital preparation
Training and experience
Professional organization memberships
Photocopies where needed.
Time spent on phone calls and emails
